kissakai Posted April 22, 2022 Report Posted April 22, 2022 Hi The image shows my feeble attempt! Left is a tsuba and the right is a kozuka. I know the kozuka mei will probably have no relevance to the maker but it was put there for some reason Quote

kissakai Posted May 10, 2022 Author Report Posted May 10, 2022 I wondered what this kozika blade with mei 小林河内守國助 - Kobayashi Kawachi no kami Kunisuke as prevous reply I know it was not a true mei so why would it be put on a kozuka blade? I do not know this smith! Quote
kissakai Posted May 11, 2022 Author Report Posted May 11, 2022 Hi Uwe Sorry but I don't understand your reply Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted May 11, 2022 Report Posted May 11, 2022 What Uwe is saying is that if you look in the giant swordsmith database or Meikan, you will discover this smith who for some reason had the habit, or liked to sign with these two characters 小林 Kobayashi. Often the addition of a Mei to a Kozuka blade is there to show respect to a certain smith. 1 Quote
