Yann81 Posted April 2, 2022 Report Posted April 2, 2022 hello several years ago I received this wakizashi among other objects in a lot. It is in poor condition and appears to have been reassembled with separate parts. In your opinion, who is the blacksmith who made this weapon, and in what era ? thank you Quote
Alex A Posted April 2, 2022 Report Posted April 2, 2022 Hello, your pic of the mei is not clear. looks to be signed Kane? It looks very slim, my first thought is that it is maybe the end of a longer sword. Difficult to tell from its condition and images. Quote
noneed2hate Posted April 2, 2022 Report Posted April 2, 2022 Very hard to read, perhaps Kaneyuki 兼行? Or perhaps Kanemori 兼守? Quote
Yann81 Posted April 2, 2022 Author Report Posted April 2, 2022 there is too much rust holes to have a clear view of the signature , here's another picture . Quote
Yann81 Posted April 2, 2022 Author Report Posted April 2, 2022 thank you maybe it's too late to give a second life to this blade , i will keep as it is . Quote
Alex A Posted April 2, 2022 Report Posted April 2, 2022 The file marks look right for a Kane- Being honest though, not overly keen on the way the mei looks, might just be down to the rust pitting though. Dont spend any money on it Yann. Make your next one (if you do) a blade that has been polished. Quote
