KH195 Posted March 19, 2022 Report Posted March 19, 2022 Hello all, A good friend inherited this Gunto and we’re hoping to decipher the smith. I tried my hand at translating but I’m clearly not very good as I’m now here asking for help. Thank you all in advance and unfortunately these are the only photos I have at this moment. A translation of the habaki would also be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time! Kris Quote

SteveM Posted March 19, 2022 Report Posted March 19, 2022 三品義明 Mishina Yoshiaki On the habaki the kanji 利 is scratched into it. Can be read "ri" or "toshi", or a few other possible readings. Maybe it was one of the kanji that make up the owner's name. That is my guess anyway. 1 Quote
