Lareon Posted February 27, 2022 Report Posted February 27, 2022 Please be aware all, after a conversation with HMRC tariff control the previous tariff code 9706.0000.00 has been superseded. 9706.0000.00 is now not a valid code but has two subcodes. the new codes are as follows 9706.1000.00 antiques over 250 years old 9706.9000.00 other https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/headings/9706 obviously please do your own checking and research as finding concrete information here is a bit of a minefield if you click date of trade on the link i provided and put december last year the code is valid, if you do feb this month you see the code isn't, it changed on the 1st of january 2022 Quote
Jean Posted February 27, 2022 Report Posted February 27, 2022 Just paste « customs code for antiques more than 100 years old » on your browser and you’ll have all your answers on this touchy subject. BTW, a tariff code for antiques over 250 years old is a non sense. Quote
Gakusee Posted February 27, 2022 Report Posted February 27, 2022 As mentioned in the separate thread, it should be 9706.1000.00 / VAT footnote 03001. https://www.trade-tariff.service.gov.uk/commodities/9706100000?country= And, Jean the tariff for over 250 years old (9706.10xxxx) is a sub tariff of the one for over 100 years old (9706.xxxxxx). Alex A Posted February 27, 2022 Report Posted February 27, 2022 If its an antique and 100 years old then why are they confusing things by adding another code for even older antiques? weird Quote
Brian Posted February 28, 2022 Report Posted February 28, 2022 Maybe instead of zero vat/taxes.... earlier than 250 years old, they start to give you money back? 1 Quote
Alex A Posted February 28, 2022 Report Posted February 28, 2022 I wish, maybe go into a basket and off to the "best make an effort with this one" room. Quote
