Geraint Posted January 24, 2022 Report Posted January 24, 2022 Hi Pippo. This is signed with kiku mon, Echizen no Kami Minamato Nobuyoshi. Compare here, http://www.sanmei.com/contents/media/N61601_S8870_PUP_E.htm Worth investigating further. Others will add soon. All the best. Quote
Pippo Posted January 24, 2022 Author Report Posted January 24, 2022 Yes , ive doubts on signature as didnt seem quite right so love to here other opinions on authenticity Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted January 24, 2022 Report Posted January 24, 2022 Here's a comparison of a few other Nobuyoshi with kiku. You'll see the kiku varies with each one, so that isn't a good gauge to go by. Guys who study smith mei might have a better way to tell if it's legit. Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted January 25, 2022 Report Posted January 25, 2022 Ok, last one and I'll stop, but I found one with the same mei. I'm studying the chrysanthemums and it's amazing how many nobuyoshi blades are on NMB. Quote
Pippo Posted January 25, 2022 Author Report Posted January 25, 2022 Okay now im really confused as to the blade, real, fake, anyone suggest how best to proceed 🤷 Quote
DTM72 Posted January 25, 2022 Report Posted January 25, 2022 Sending it to shinsa is the best way to know for sure, but I think it is worth a shot. Quote
george trotter Posted January 25, 2022 Report Posted January 25, 2022 Pippo, Bruce's latest photo just above has a lot of similarities in handwriting style to your example. There are some differences, but may be same man? Ask him what his source for the photo is and whether they say what generation Nobuyoshi he is...might be a trail to follow? Good luck... Quote
