Brian Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 No..not you. Me. Some may have been wondering if I have been a bit scarce lately, and why I haven't commented on some posts as normal. Short story.. Went into hospital on Monday to have a kidney stone removed. That done, they also found a blocked tube, which they cut open. That left me with a catheter for a week. Now I still have pain, and today the doc agreed with me that there might still be a stone in the kidney. So we have to wait on that and see after the catheter comes out. So all in all, I am in pain and mainly reading the forum on my cellphone in bed, but can't reply. Only logging in occasionally to post. Only posting this to explain why I am not more active here. Please spare me the stories of kidney stones, catheters and all the other nasty stuff...I am panicked enough  Not my first stone, but the first they had to go in after. Anyways, the mods are handing things for me, and I am still around. The first one to post a horror story about stones or catheters etc will earn himself a week's ban Take care all, and drink LOTS of water daily! Brian Quote

Brian Posted March 6, 2009 Author Report Posted March 6, 2009 All, Thanks very much for the wishes, they really do help. Just got home from the second stay in hospital this week. They went in again, poked around, said they took out a few more small stones, took out the catheter and sent me home. With the same side pain I had before I went in :? Ah well..good to be home. Feel like I have been through a tumbledryer. Only time will tell how I feel in the next few days. Anyways, appreciate all the thoughts. I will be a bit scarce, but I'll be around. Regards, Brian Quote

IanB Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Brian, Please accept my best wishes for a speedy recovery. I feel sure that now you are out of the clutches of the medics and at home among your swords you will recover far quicker. Ian Quote
Brian Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 Thanks Ian, I went in for the second surgery because of severe and repeated pain in the right kidney. The doc operated yet again yesterday (through all the swollen, bleeding and bruised areas that he operated on 3 days before) and yet last night I still have the same pain. So 2 surgeries, one week, and I feel I am still back where I started. Going to have to find a new urologist who can actually find out what is going on. Either that, or I am going to find my sharpest tanto and remove a kidney myself. You only need 1, right? Brian Quote
kusunokimasahige Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Indeed so i have heard.. Damn its lowsy to hear u r suffering like that and i must say the do it yourself tanto idea is not at all a weird thought. Basically you only need one, but its mighty frustrating indeed if you hurt and they (the men in white) cannot find it. hold in there!!! Ganbatte kure! KM Quote
