zak1189 Posted January 4, 2022 Report Posted January 4, 2022 I need help on this it looks like marking on the tang of the blade but i don't know what it is? Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted January 4, 2022 Report Posted January 4, 2022 If it is in military mounts they could be assembly markings that match the fittings. Quote
Grey Doffin Posted January 4, 2022 Report Posted January 4, 2022 Or it is possible that this is a low grade fake; the file marks stop too low on the nakago. Pictures of the rest of the blade might help. Grey 3 Quote

Bruce Pennington Posted January 4, 2022 Report Posted January 4, 2022 Is it from a kyugunto? Maybe a zoheito? Waiting to see fittings and rest of the blade. Quote
zak1189 Posted January 5, 2022 Author Report Posted January 5, 2022 hear are more pics of the sword hope this helps Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted January 5, 2022 Report Posted January 5, 2022 Ah, a waki. Maybe even one made from a broken or cut-down full sized blade. Still, don’t recognize the markings. I have seen a variety of unusual marks that are probably put there by the fitting shops and/or the polisher. 1 Quote
Stephen Posted January 5, 2022 Report Posted January 5, 2022 I think Bruce has it very good chance of broken blade made into a walkie 1 Quote
Grey Doffin Posted January 5, 2022 Report Posted January 5, 2022 I agree and will add that it wasn't very well done; the nakago is weak. I think this was put together out of existing parts. Grey Quote
