Can anyone help with the second to last character? I know its a long shot, not even the shinsa team could read it, but it still got 76 pts.

Could it be 實 sane- or 重 shige-, just going by the outline and guessing what would fit. john

There are a lot of '-Yuki' in Bungo.

Did your paper slip put an age on the sword. Could you send a boshi pic.

I will look through the oshigata of the Bungo To and see what I can find.

Many thanks for your views so far. The paper gives it C1680. The blade has all the characteristics of Shigeyuki and it also has the four groups of ashi running along the blade's legth within the notare hamon!

I have a Takado Fujiwara Shigeyuki katana. If I can get on my computer when I return home I will post a picture of the mei. At a glance, the hamon looks very similar.
