Plat Posted December 28, 2021 Report Posted December 28, 2021 Hi all! Have found this forum to be a great resource! Attached image is tsuba(if thats what it is called!) From samurai sword that my grandfather found in Japan. Funny enough, I found a very similar one here (almost exact!) - https://www.ebay.com/itm/165174006311?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338722076&customid=&toolid=10050 Not sure if that helps date how old blade itself may be? Thanks for your assistance! Matt Quote
Ray Singer Posted December 28, 2021 Report Posted December 28, 2021 Echizen ju __ Guessing the remaining mei, which is not very readable, is Kinai. This is a common motif in Echizen Kinai tsuba... Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted December 28, 2021 Report Posted December 28, 2021 This Tsuba came up on the NMB just yesterday or the day before. Tsuba are generally interchangeable, Matt, so they tend to have no relation to the age of the blade. Quote
