Hello all, Havn't been on in some time but been lurking per sei, hope things are going well for everyone. I purchased this from a vets family a couple weeks ago and thought I would post it here, nothing major but a real nice late war katana, my big question is the mark on the back of the tang, need some thoughts please. Thanks!

Here are smoe more pictures of the rest, the mounts are in great shap as well as the metal scabbard has 95% of the olive drab paint remaining and no dents, the big bummer about the whole thing is at some time the handle came unwrapped and the minukis (sorry if I spelled it wrong) were lost but the rest is still there just needs to be rewrapped.

Hey John, no I trust you completely. The more info the better, I agree it's the chimata stamp, my question is why is it on a late war blade. How's things going for you? Are you going to SOS?

Show of Shows in Louisville Kentucky, one heck of a good show, approx 2000 table show

always wanted to make one, maybe if i can dig up some treasure ill be there, I have heard some very big names in the nihonto world make the show as it does bring out the swords that have been hiding in the woodwork.
