ShuShinKan Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Hi I am not sure if I post right here. The following item is for sale and my intention is to learn more about it before I buy. The article is NOT in an Online-Auction but private. I guess it comes from Bizen and the owner says it is made before eisho - but he is not sure. Maybe you guys like to send comments, at least if I am in right forum now. Unfortunately there are kanji missing. Personally, I fell for the hamon! Gunther Quote
John A Stuart Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Well, this sword has a pleasant sugata, even though it is osuriage. Polish is old so the pics do not portray the hamon well, you must have seen it in the flesh so to speak. To whom does the dealer attribute this sword, Ichimonji school? I'd love to see more pics if you get them or if you buy it. John Quote
Stephen Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 it should be for a very good price, you do see the kizu yes? Quote
ShuShinKan Posted February 21, 2009 Author Report Posted February 21, 2009 So you mean it would not be an item to start a collection on? Not an opportunity.... I understand! ("swallow") Thank you for the hints, I am not sure about the certain defects, starting to explore the world, you know. Shall pay more attention to that. Gunther Quote
Henry Stewart Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Sir Your one photo showing the whole blade leaves me with the impression it follows the Bizen tradition. I cannot make out the hamon and as for Kizu I would need to see it to comment, it certainly looks a forging flaw.Good luck with your enterprise. Henry Quote
Jacques Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Hi, As Stephen shows, there is a big fukure on this blade (+ 2 smaller) all placed in the hamon. This blade has beeen polished a lot and is quite tired, IMO it's not a bargain Quote
ShuShinKan Posted February 21, 2009 Author Report Posted February 21, 2009 so that might explain it was never signed...... Thank you for your comments, valuable in deed! I'll stop following this thread as ambiguous as I did 6 hours ago. Gunther Quote
