Good Lord, what a train wreck.

I have seen SO many fine WWII rifles RUINED with sandpaper and cold bluing paste...

I see this field is equally susceptible to this.

My uncle used to say, "The surface of the Earth is covered in a roughly even layer of morons".

I think he was correct.

He drew the sword out of the saya on its side, should be the mune, to avoid scuffing the polished blade.

To be fair, i once got told off for it when i first started collecting, though it was my own sword.

Like I said, I don't have the eye for that sort of things. Now that you mention it, I can notice it straight away, but here I was looking at the sword, thinking if there was something wrong with it. :D

This is why folks shouldn't let friends or anyone else near their collection unsupervised, its the natural sword draw for beginners.

Let alone talking all over them, then comes "is it sharp", followed by running a finger down the edge.

Don't forget slamming the sword back into the Saya at Mach 5.

We all chuckle at this, but a known member here got yelled at by a polisher for doing this to a few blades at the Indiana Token Kai section of the Chicago Show a few years ago (said person shall remain unnamed, but they know who they are). I was about to say something halfway across the table aisle before said polisher got to him.

Seems like etiquette can never be taught and enforced enough!
