Hello I've recently acquired an old Japanese sword and would like some help IDing it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I traded a porcelain sign and a clock for this sword and an 1860 staff & field officers sword.

Chance,

welcome to the NMB!

The photos are upside down, so a bit difficult to read. Anyhow, it is not an old Japanese sword, but a military one from WWII (dated SHOWA period).
