Is this what you'd consider an "Owari group", Nobuiye-style guard? Or something else?

I'm just wondering about this tsuba from the Cleveland Museum Tsuba Collection, which is all open source btw.

"Accessions." The Bulletin of the Cleveland Museum of Art 6, no. 6 (1919): 113-14. Mentioned: p. 114 www.jstor.org

lol, that sure narrows it down :) Made me chuckle with the "when in doubt, go Shoami"

I can see some Tembo cues, especially with the irregular surface "beatings" and hammered mimi.

Did Tembo do that kind of floral carving though?

I thought they were all about the hot stamps and hammered texturing, sticking to a pretty narrow set of stamp motifs.

As always Dale, you're great at tracking down the doppelgangers and fraternal twins of any tsuba!

Now I just wish I could find something similar with a mei...

You know it's funny, I didn't even recognize that the weird "blob" sukashi with two "antenna" was a kabuto helmet until you posted the utsushi :)

Every time I look at it, this is the first thing that pops into my head:
