Benji Posted October 17, 2021 Report Posted October 17, 2021 I tried but I didn't know that it says. Appreciate any help. Quote
Ray Singer Posted October 17, 2021 Report Posted October 17, 2021 It looks like the blade is signed 正照作 Masateru saku, however it may be questionable. Quote
Benji Posted October 17, 2021 Author Report Posted October 17, 2021 Thank you. I was just getting ready to post a picture of the whole tanto. I believe it was brought back during occupation by a vet stationed around tokyo. Wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be a tourist piece but it looks well made. At least to me haha. Quote
Ray Singer Posted October 17, 2021 Report Posted October 17, 2021 It looks like an authentic Showa period Seki blade. Not sure about the authenticity of the mei itself, but the manner it is signed does seem consistent with similar Showa-to tanto in this type of shirasaya. Quote
