beakner Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Can someone help me with a person that can retip a blade? I have ( as least in my eyes) a great blade that is in decent original polish...except for the very tip. As you can see in the pic...there is plenty to work with . Quote
Grey Doffin Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Any properly trained polisher can fix this for you. Bob Benson comes to mind first. Grey Quote
leo Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 From what the picture shows, the polisher has to remove a lot of steel to repair this kissaki and it seems possible, but the polish looks in no way decent, so be prepared to have the whole blade polished. Regards, Martin Quote
Brian Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Agree with Mr Strebel. No way to do that kissaki without a full polish, and looks like it needs it. Brian Quote
Jacques Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Hi, Is it the tip of the Kato Kunihide you asked the mei translation? Quote
beakner Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 Unfortunatly ...yes, but as you can see the damage & discoloration is confined to the kissaki area. I'll just have to see what a polisher can do with it. Quote
