MacTheWhopper Posted October 1, 2021 Report Posted October 1, 2021 I'm in the works of trying to buy some swords from on older colelctor. It seems like alot of his swords weren't authentic. I'd like to see what the Mei on this swords reads to see if it's worth looking into Quote
uwe Posted October 1, 2021 Report Posted October 1, 2021 It seems to be “濃州関住星谷義長” (Noshū Seki Jū Hoshitany Yoshinaga)! 2 Quote
Grey Doffin Posted October 1, 2021 Report Posted October 1, 2021 Hi Kenny, If you take your pictures on a dark background we'll be able to see details. As is, your camera is calibrating off the white background and the nakago is left in the dark. Grey 1 Quote

Bruce Pennington Posted October 7, 2021 Report Posted October 7, 2021 Nihonto Club has a Yoshinaga, but he used a different mei and was from Hoki prefecture, where this one is from Seki. Doesn't surprise me though, as I've come across several smiths in my files not listed there. https://nihontoclub.com/smiths/YOS570 There were over 300 smiths working the Seki area during the war. We simply don't have official records of them all. Quote
