Corry Posted September 24, 2021 Report Posted September 24, 2021 All, Not sure if this is the correct place to post this. I hate missing parts and always try to find an original replacement, but sometimes (depending on the part, I'll replace a small part with a repro (screw etc). I realize this is not everyone's cup of tea. So, Please no ripping. I don't know if I could even distinguish and orig Tsuka screw for a type 95 from an repro..patina can be faked. I ran across a seller that produces parts for a variety of Japanese (WW@) items, some may be orig (not just for swords). Not sure if he is still in business, but here is his e-mail and an old parts list. Here is the Tsuka screw I bought from him: Best Regards, Corry Couldn't get the list to load properly..here is a screenshot of some sword parts (mostly type 95): dfsjpn@aol.com Quote
PNSSHOGUN Posted September 24, 2021 Report Posted September 24, 2021 If faithfully reproduced to the same level of quality, small items like this are invaluable to collectors. Items like these Type 95 screws, the special Type 3 pins and the small screws used for Saya parts on standard officer swords are difficult and expensive to obtain now. 2 1 Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted September 24, 2021 Report Posted September 24, 2021 I have had Don Schlickman make some tiny screws for me and he does excellent work! Thank you for posting this, I have tried to recall his name a couple of times, recently, as guys ask for parts; but hadn't been able to drag his name out of my memory banks! 1 1 Quote

Bruce Pennington Posted September 25, 2021 Report Posted September 25, 2021 Someone over at Warrelics was very pleased with some work done by Ralph "rbminis", just to add another source for fabricated parts: https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/f216/Japanese-police-short-sword-meji-period-796263-post2178595/#post2178595 1 1 Quote
