 I already spoke with the auction house and in theory have some pictures coming. Will share them with you when I get them but looks like we might be in a bidding war!

The woman I spoke with said that as of this moment it has not been dismantled to check for signature and that she was an unconfident in her abilities to do so. She did say that if anyone comes to view it that is confidently  able to take a picture she will send me that as well

Absolutely. Just got another email from the woman that said the saya is signed but according to according to her knowledge the blade is unsigned..

Well love the horimono and the mounts of this... question posed is how much money considering it is an unsigned blade would make me an asshole to spend on it?

Over 3K now im thinking lt will land around 6k

Not counting tha hefty 30%

I asked for FK pix got a email loaded with un cropped full size...im not wasting my time on...not buyer friendly.

Newest response I got form the house is that they are not comfortable dismantling to check the nakago for signature. Kind of contradictory to what they said last week but peeks the gambler within

If I was the seller, I'd be pissed. The signature can mean the difference of more than 100% of the end value.
I wouldn't gamble without a nakago pic.

I can't really disagree with the logic from the seller's perspective. According to them it is from an estate and they would have to get a waiver signed to dismantle it and with all they have coming up they are not interested in doing so.. But I will say if they did so that would negate the gamble and makes it a bit less fun.. I just sent a tanto that I essentially discovered out of happenstance and posted on the board a few years ago to Bob Benson for his opinion. Much to my surprise he offered me $7000 for it so now I've got that money kind of burning a hole and I figure this gamble is better than blackjack.

I was the 3250 bid but just got outbid. Going to bid live via the auction house as the premiums are less.  The lot currently up is number 11 and it is 65. Should be around 11:15 or so

Well, I had given my post my thought as I did not want to be the killer of somebodys dream ... and I may be missing something here but could not understand the excitement.
