PNSSHOGUN Posted September 8, 2021 Report Posted September 8, 2021 The other common methods are a hole added to the bottom and normal Sarute added or the tassel looped and then stitched onto the Tsuka. Do any other members recall other unique methods of attaching tassels? 1 2 Quote
Ian B3HR2UH Posted September 11, 2021 Report Posted September 11, 2021 I thought you might like to see this one John . It is a really well mounted katana and they have put a leather cover over the lacquered saya . They have then wrapped a sageo over the leather cover . I have never seen this before . The tassel has then been wrapped over the sageo , It was like this when I bought it forty five years ago and as there is no other form of attachment I think it must always have been attached like this. PNSSHOGUN Posted September 11, 2021 Author Report Posted September 11, 2021 How extraordinary, thank you for sharing. Sheer coincidence but it has the same uncommon herringbone weave on the tassel straps as the example above. 1 Quote
