andreYes Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 I have a tsuba (picture 1) - not a masterpiece, but I like the theme. Today I've found another one (picture 2), very similar. Almost all branches and flowers/buds are on the same places. I wonder, is it a so popular design? Could it be a daisho (the size of mine - 7,6x7,2 cm, the size of the second one is about 5-6 cm)? By the way, any comments about the style/age? Nara, late Edo? Quote
Brian Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Andrey, You mean this one? (mine) Yeah..I'm guessing this design was popular. This one is small...tanto or small wakizashi size. I have thought it to be Nara, mid to late Edo. Brian Quote

"Two ex Wehrmacht soldiers decide in 1946 to revisit Normandy, but in light of the previous war, decide to speak English as not to offend the people too much... One night at the hotel they are in the bar and order a drink with the barkeeper... Two Martinis please... Dry? NEIN, ZWEI!!! " Nice tsubas indeed!! KM Quote
