Bruce Pennington Posted July 26, 2021 Report Posted July 26, 2021 Ah, thanks Trystan! A nice "Ichi" gunto. The extra seppa in front threw me until I realized it had been moved from the backside to the front! Quote

Expand Dave, I am astonished by the price points of so many of the Type 95's these days! Seems like they are appreciating at a faster rate than any other Gunto models. A few weeks ago there was competitive bidding on eBay for a first version Type 95 (good condition) and it sold for $1590.00 USD. I'm still under the belief that, unless it's exceptional (or rare, like the side-latch version), they should sell for $900.00 - $1200.00 range. Perhaps I need to update my belief system. 1 Quote
robinalexander Posted July 26, 2021 Report Posted July 26, 2021 Geoff, I am also under the impression that, unless exceptional, they shouldn't sell for more than $900 - $1200 (at very best) ......but I'm talking AUD. Rob Quote
lonely panet Posted July 26, 2021 Author Report Posted July 26, 2021 this is Japanese based auction, so being a machine made blade there rare for them, compared to the west. hence the silly price. PS everyone knows my op on these, just though i would share 1 Quote

lonely panet Posted July 27, 2021 Author Report Posted July 27, 2021 till hell freezes over, they like moving there non-desired items into western direction while making good money. just because they dont think highly of there things, dosnt make them ignorant of the western values of them 1 Quote
