SalaMarcos Posted July 8, 2021 Report Posted July 8, 2021 Hi from Spain, Did you heard about a sashimono called: tejika bansashimono (手近番指物), and you know who represents inside an army or daimyō gyōretsu? Thanks in advance! Quote
SalaMarcos Posted July 20, 2021 Author Report Posted July 20, 2021 Or maybe the correct way of reading is Sentebansashimono 先手番指物? Quote
SteveM Posted July 20, 2021 Report Posted July 20, 2021 I don't recognize that word/words. Nothing comes up in a search, which leads me to think there is a misspelling in the words (or it is so obscure, no other person on the internet has ever made reference to it - which seems unlikely, but it could be possible). When I do a search on that phrase, the closest thing I get is 先手使番指物. Alas, there is no description for exactly what that is. I assume it is merely an identifying banner worn by someone on the very front lines of battle. Quote
uwe Posted July 21, 2021 Report Posted July 21, 2021 As soon I’m back home, I’ll have a look in “O-umajirushi”. Perhaps there is something written about it….?! Quote
uwe Posted July 28, 2021 Report Posted July 28, 2021 Sry, couldn’t find the term…. Depending on the spelling with “番” (watch, guard, position…) or “判” (seal, monogram, signature…) I could imagine that it might have something to do with these things…..?! Quote
SalaMarcos Posted August 13, 2021 Author Report Posted August 13, 2021 Anyway, thanks a lot for all your hard work! I found this term in a ukiyo-e series of sashimono. I thought it was also some "preceding" sashimono, for example, during a daimyō gyōretsu. Thanks and best regards from Spain! Quote
