John A Stuart Posted June 25, 2021 Report Posted June 25, 2021 I just got this tsuba from Italy. I always wanted a good rendition of millet, a theme I appreciate. The really good stuff is stratospheric. This was reasonable. Sold as Fujiwara Mitsunobu. It reads, I believe Iyo kuni Matsuyama ju Fujiwara Mitsunobu. A Shoami school artist. Correct me if I'm wrong. Legatus Posted June 26, 2021 Report Posted June 26, 2021 Hello John, . From a fellow Canadian in Hong Kong! I was following that too on Czernys Auction, I see u got it for the opening bid- aren't you glad I didn't bid for it?! I really liked your piece but decided to save my bullets for the next lot , a tsuba by RYUKUDO MITSUOKI. I shouldnt have bothered- 1000 Eu ended up at 3800 Eu + fees. 1 Quote
John A Stuart Posted June 27, 2021 Author Report Posted June 27, 2021 I had 1500 euro on that Mitsuoki. Quality demands an high price. Most of this months funds gone on some oil paintings and some other tsuba or I might have gone higher. Too bad you missed out. John Quote
