Stephen Posted January 16, 2009 Author Report Posted January 16, 2009 how about this page 360 out of Nihontokoza KUNIYOSHI 36, 370 might not be same Kuniyoshi Quote
Grey Doffin Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 I don't know what kind of soul I am, and I don't know if this is shoshin mei (the article doesn't say), but this is from page 37 of Number 17 of the Florida Token Kai's "Newsletter". Other than that you can look to page 143 of Zuikan Tomei Soran by Iida, and page 70 of Nihon Meisaku Shu by Shibata, neither of which I own. Grey Quote

John A Stuart Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Hi Stephen, Nihonto Koza Koto #2 pg. 360 has one oshigata of Hoshu Takada Taira Katamori. On pg. 370 371 there are two Kuniyoshi using completely different kanji for 'yoshi' 吉. John Quote
Stephen Posted January 16, 2009 Author Report Posted January 16, 2009 Thanks John, thats what i wanted to know, now tolook elsewhere. Quote
John A Stuart Posted January 16, 2009 Report Posted January 16, 2009 Stephen, In the koto period I can't find Kuniyoshi using 'yoshi' 義 kanji in above. In shinto period Fujishiro are three listed. KUNIYOSHI SHINDÔ [TENNA 1681 RIKUCHÛ] SHINTÔ CHÛJÔSAKU His original kuni is Chikuzen Fukuoka, he is the second son of the ninth generation Kunitsugu, and is called Jirôbei. He went down to Tôbu during the Enpô era, and became the tôshô of the house of Nanbe. He moved to Morioka in Tenna Gannen, and died in Genroku Jûichinen (1698). Signatures: SHINDÔ MINAMOTO KUNIYOSHI ÔSHÛ MORIOKA JÛ SHINDÔ MINAMOTO KUNIYOSHI KUNIYOSHI BUNGO NO KAMI RAI KUNIYOSHI Plate I: KUNIYOSHI KUNIYOSHI SURUGA NO KAMI [KANBUN 1661 HYÛGA] SHINTÔ CHÛJÔSAKU His family name is Chita, and he lived in Hyûga Nobeoka Signature: SURUGA NO KAMI TAIRA KUNIYOSHI KUNIYOSHI SHIMÔSA NO KAMI [KANBUN 1661 SETTSU] SHINTÔ CHÛSAKU He was a pupil of the shodai Izumi no Kami Kunisada, and he also produced in Sekishû. He later moved to Hyûga, and he is said to be called Kuniyoshi. [TN] Signatures: SESSHÛ JÛ FUJIWARA KUNIYOSHI SEKISHÛ HAMADA JÛ SHIMÔSA NO KAMI FUJIWARA KUNIYOSHI I haven't checked other references yet, halftime I'll check more. John Quote
