I am being offered this dirk as part of a trade.  Online research is very confusing and I don't know what I am looking at.  I would appreciate any help you can provide in identifying this dirk, it's age, and perhaps it's value to aid me in the trade.

Looks like a standard-issue dirk. If it was nihonto, the nakago's been messed with, so the value there is minimal. The value in the piece is in its militaria value. You'll have to wait on someone else to weigh in on the value unfortunately.

This thread is quite old. Please consider starting a new thread rather than reviving this one, unless your post is really relevant and adds to the topic..
