Type 94 and Type 98 real or fake?

Hey guys! New here so if I’m posting this in the wrong place, I apologize.

 

I know the photos aren’t very good, but do you guys see anything that would confirm my suspicions that these are both fakes?

bottom, or right one looks real, top or left is a fake.

I would side with MARK on this, without better pictures. At best the one on the left is suspect. However, better pictures might reveal some thing else.

So, do you think this is acid etched, on the Type 94, to give the appearance of real grain? That was the main reason I was considering these as fakes. However, you could be right about the Type 98 being real.

Type 98 is good and looks promising, the "Type 94" is a Chinese replica.

I agree with John, the “acid etch“ is Damascus steel which is classic Chinese. The black, or purpleish, ray skin is also a clear Chinese sign. The metalwork hurts my eyes, and it’s quite refreshing to see the other one which is completely legitimate.
