Mark S. Posted May 6, 2021 Report Posted May 6, 2021 From Markus Sesko Nihonto Compendium... I think the last kanji is ‘trying’ to be: Quote
ROKUJURO Posted May 6, 2021 Report Posted May 6, 2021 Jeremy, that NAKAGO looks very non-Japanese to me, and I am not sure that the symbols make any sense. If we could see the whole blade without HABAKI, an assessment would be easier. Quote
1tallsword Posted May 6, 2021 Author Report Posted May 6, 2021 thank you both of your insight and time, yes that is what i was thinking/hinting at when i said questionable. as you know I collect kamakura and have a couple muromachi blades , I dont touch later stuff and no knowledge on it really. ill see if i can get some pics, but if i can i will be able to tell by blade for sure.. he just asked about kanji so thats what i was helping him with, cheers Quote
Geraint Posted May 6, 2021 Report Posted May 6, 2021 Dear Jeremy. This is not a Japanese sword, as Jean has suggested. No point trying to make kanji fit. All the best. Quote
1tallsword Posted May 6, 2021 Author Report Posted May 6, 2021 im bored i guess , Just keeping you guys on your toes, ...cheers Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted May 6, 2021 Report Posted May 6, 2021 長坂一雄 Nagasaka Kazuo might be one way to read this name. The Kanji do not look confident, and it doesn't sound like an artisan name. Quote
