Lammi Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 I have this Mihara ju Masahiro (三原住正廣). It is probably sue-Mihara blade. Most of the smith´s in Mihara were Masa something and there were several Masahiros as well. According my knowledge last Mihara Masahiro worked around 1530. At that time they also exported a grate number of Mihara blades to China (even Chinese did not use these blades). Can anyone tell me something about this blade, is this a sue-Mihara blade and what about this Masahiro, can anyone identify when this Masahiro worked? Quote

leo Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 Hi, This Bingo smith, according to the signature, may be Mihara ju Masahiro who worked in Ei-roku(1558). Ref. Hawley MAS 164. I have a large Aikuchi(33cm) by a contemporary smith Mihara Ju Masayoshi (1532-1559) of the same school, picture shown. Martin Quote

Lammi Posted December 30, 2008 Author Report Posted December 30, 2008 Hi, Thanks for the replies. The style in Martin´s Aikuchi is very similar. Ei-roku is the most probably answer, I will check the reference. Thanks! Quote
