Karusk Posted March 15, 2021 Report Posted March 15, 2021 First things i ever bought. I wanted something cheap to study before i went after anything expensive. Oh how that changes quickly 🧐 Both were under 1k and i probably still over paid. theres alot of large damage to one side on both, but from what I understand this isn’t actually fatal. No hagire the tips are intact. One is signed sukemitsu. Im 100% its not that sukemitsu. The litteral translation is favorite apprentice so my younger self always assumed this was something done by an apprentice and not a master. The waki was sold to me as edo period and the katana as muromachi period. I have no reason to doubt the seller. Im pretty sure this mountain shaped habaki is worth more than either blade. No one wants to buy these. If you do ill laugh and do you the favor of keeping them. If you got something to say id love to hear it, and nothing you say will ever make someone actually buy these from me🤣. I love them both all the same. Theyre real nihonto and were the start of my journey. Quote
Brian Posted March 15, 2021 Report Posted March 15, 2021 They aren't that terrible. Most of us did far worse. 2 Quote

Bruce Pennington Posted March 15, 2021 Report Posted March 15, 2021 Alva, I like the habaki too! Still amazes me to see the work and detail those guys went to on parts, to me, that would have just been utilitarian. Instead, they made everything a work of art. Adding this to the growing habaki collection HERE. 1 Quote
