That sounds like the Oedo Nominoichi (Flea Market), between Yurakucho and Tokyo stations.

1st and 3rd Sundays of the month, unless its raining (Sometimes on a Saturday, if clashes with events at the International Forum).

Flea markets. The thing I miss most about Japan. And enjoyed the most too.
Amazing collections of assorted stuff. Mostly not cheap, but there are bargains too. Tsuba are expensive. I plan my trips around flea markets. And yes...lots of nakago, and especially lots of koshirae from destroyed blades, and yari poles from destroyed polearms.

Hmm... wow.  Ok.  I learned something new.  Still a bit concerned that this could encourage amateurs to break apart potentially significant blades that just needed some TLC.  But the knife project was pretty neat, I admit.  :)
