Hi all,

I saw this blade from daimyou54eb and really liked the hamon, so I made a random offer on it ($1200) and he accepted. Upon closer inspection, it seems like the blade is definitely on the tired side - but I'm still really considering it. Does anyone have a different opinion?

Best,

Paul

I won't get too far into the blade itself because I am not an expert. But the fact alone that he took $700 off of a $1900 asking price should speak volumes alone. He isn't doing it for charity and I doubt he's hurting that much for cash.

I think that name has become a staple on its own.

Best advice is to pass, get a few books. Read up on what attracts you in the first place.

Think on it. Buy something to be proud of.

The polish is not good, I don't see tiredness but I also don't see the cracks and hakobore he mentions. Theres no papers, just a registration card. Walk away, save your money, stop looking at ebay...
