BANGBANGSAN Posted January 26, 2021 Report Posted January 26, 2021 Looking to buy a 群水刀 Gunsui-tō since I missed a bid on one last week. It doesn't matter who made it, but it has to have 群水 Mei on the tang. If anyone has one or know someone has one for sale, please let me know, Thanks. Quote
BANGBANGSAN Posted January 27, 2021 Author Report Posted January 27, 2021 If the winner of that sword (3rd photo )from Showa22 willing to part with it,I can pay more for it Quote
DTM72 Posted February 24, 2021 Report Posted February 24, 2021 Maybe reach out to Showa22 and see if he will give the buyer your contact information. It would then be up to the buyer to contact you, if he wants a quick profit from his recent purchase. Wishing you luck. Dan Quote
BANGBANGSAN Posted February 24, 2021 Author Report Posted February 24, 2021 Thanks, Dan, I might try to contact him, but I had a feeling he will not reply to me. Quote

It is not too expensive I think though I would not buy from this seller. At a time, I too wanted a Gunsui to, they are scarce and contrary to the Mantetsu to, there is a wide range of quality level among them. Some are pretty crude wether others are very well made. Quote

Bruno I don't think those Gunsui to is at the same level as Mantetsu in any way. I just want to have one of this Company made Gunto from WW2 in my collection, not because of the quality of the blade or smith, just a part of wartime history. 1 Quote

Yes probably not as fine as Mantetsu-to. Though they were considered made with superior quality steel. AFAIR, on Ohmura's website or elsewhere (not sure where) there is the results of a resistance test that show Gunsui-to won't break as easily as older blades. Quote
paul griff Posted February 25, 2021 Report Posted February 25, 2021 Hello Bruno, I own among others , a Mantetsu and a shinbu- to...It sometimes makes collecting interesting when you have examples of these swords and compare them with arsenal made blades and traditional blades...I enjoy comparing the different characteristics...... Regards, Paul.. 2 Quote

I don't see why Showa22 wouldn't reply. Says something about his character if he doesn't. In my opinion, Showa22 made his money. He shouldn't care if the buyer makes a deal with you. Just my worthless .02 cents. Best of luck to you. Quote
