ChrisW Posted January 19, 2021 Report Posted January 19, 2021 Very nice blade! That's one I'd like to own/take care of myself! Let me know if you ever plan to part with it! As for the bohi... I think that yes, it means its been shortened. But I am no expert on that. Quote
Mister Gunto Posted January 19, 2021 Report Posted January 19, 2021 Definately looks to be suriage. Very nice blade, and looks like nice gunto koshirae too. Nice find! Quote
Markdd Posted January 20, 2021 Author Report Posted January 20, 2021 Hi, Any idea as to period some I knew thought it was Hizen-to about 1600. Quote
Geraint Posted January 24, 2021 Report Posted January 24, 2021 Dear Mark. What characteristics of Hizen to did your friend suggest were present in this sword? From what we can see in these images the sword appears to be quite wide with narrow shinogi and extended kissaki. It certainly appears suriage. What can you see of the boshi? Given what we can see here most people would suggest an earlier date than 1600 but you have the advantage of having the sword in hand. What do you see? All the best. Quote
