Walter55 Posted January 5, 2021 Report Posted January 5, 2021 Good evening, here's my first post! I present to you a piece, in my opinion rare, a fukuro'yari, with double koshirae, the blade is signed by a good artist, Hisayuki, who was a student of Hosokawa Masayoshi, I hope you like it. Shugyosha Posted January 5, 2021 Report Posted January 5, 2021 Hi Walter, Welcome to the forum. I’ve not seen anything like this before - I can see the “fukuro” yari but I’m confused that there seems to be a tang with the signature and obviously a fukuro yari can’t have a tang...is that a different spear? Geraint Posted January 5, 2021 Report Posted January 5, 2021 I think perhaps we are talking about a makura yari, or pillow spear, rather than a fukuro yari, which as John says , has a socket rather than the conventional nakago. Would love to see some pictures of the blade please Walter. All the best. 1 Quote
