Modern make katana

Wondering if this is a good buy, seems like a real Nihonto to me but I know alot of people on this site know alot more than I do from what I'm told it's from either a desperate smith or a younger student of a smith??

where did you see a signature?  All I can see are photos of a sword blade that is probably made in Japanese style.

Looks good to me but ppl are going to want more pics, especially of the nakago (handle, hilt, part you hold with the hole in it) 

 

Looks good so far other than some rust but it looks authentic. 

 

PS. Who or what is a desperate young smith and who told you that? From what I've seen it looks well made but I'm going to need more pics to determine an approximate age or authenticity

I believe that is the name he seemed very honest told me he thought the signature was a fake I'm not like a super high end collector so stuff like that doesn't bother me.

So are these blades chinese made?

I think their origin is unknown and they are what they are but never had one in hand and the gendai ones wont get nbthk papers in my opinion.

I would love to see some pictures of the blade from someone who bought them and show their geometry.

I'm not too worried about getting papers or anything like that kinda sucks that I don't know if it was made in Japan or not but it definitely looks like a real Nihonto from the pictures.

I have one by Komonjo.

 

I still think those are excellent blades, made in Japan but definitely Gimei. They have a iaito polish and cut better than any Chinese blades I have.

 

So good buy? I’d say yes since you can get a very nice blade for about $500, but as to who actually makes them, this is a mystery.

Hey thank you to all who responded I really appreciate your time and information I'm sorry for posting this twice I thought the first one didn't post I will do my best to not let it happen again in the future.  I really think this site is wonderful for the Nihonto world it's been extremely helpful to me so far thanks again you guys.
