myamoto Posted November 29, 2008 Report Posted November 29, 2008 Hi to you all, I recently heard from a source the NBTHK migt stop excisting because of bad behavior and might loose it's status as a sub-governmental organization. Does anybody knows more about this? What will happen with the annual exhibition for upcoming swordsmiths? Would love to see any input on this Regards, Marcel Quote

John A Stuart Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 There is a thread on this somewhere, but, I'll give the answer I got from Paul Davidson when I queried him on this subject. Paraphrased,' it seems that this is a worry only outside of Japan and need not cause doubt of NBTHK continued function'. He mentioned releasing a statement in the near future. john Quote
myamoto Posted November 30, 2008 Author Report Posted November 30, 2008 Barry and John, thanks for your input. We will have to wait and see what happens Does any of you know how this is taken up by the craftsmen themselves? Are they ok by this or do they have a troubled mind about this change? Quote
b.hennick Posted November 30, 2008 Report Posted November 30, 2008 Most of the heads of the "craftsman" unions have signed on as have some Mukansa artisans. Quote
