Hello dear members,

I wanted your precious advice about this katana sword,

it was sold as an original piece but not really expensive.

The mounts , scabbard seems more a copy of katana made in spain

the blade I don't know, pictures are blurry, so for me it was just a copy

But the seller send me two pictures on the tang and tsuba with signature/engravings.

Do you think it's a real one ? or chinese copy with imitation of mei signature ?

Your pictures are t clear enough to judge but I can’t say I like what I see. Remove the peg and show us the tang.

Hello,

Thank you all for your answers !!

I wonder why they take time for make fake mei signatures...

the rest of the sword is no perfect at all so they can't pretend a high price and sell it as a real one

They take the time because someone who’s never seen a real sword might know that Japanese swords are all Signed. This is not the case, of course, but if a total newbie sees said sword plus a signature, it will dispel any doubt for him that it might be a fake. Moreover, some Chinese company, like Hanwei, sign their high end swords, though clearly, nothing high end here! :)

Franco when i try to paint a Picasso and sign with Picasso, it is allways only a ugly picture and a fake.

That sword you show is ugly and the signature is nothing more than "Kritzelkrakel" done by chinese fakers.

Too bad he didn’t continue this way, but hey, what can I say, as a rather okay painter and sculptor Who doesn’t believe in art but in skills, I hate modern art. :)
