ROKUJURO Posted November 19, 2020 Report Posted November 19, 2020 Gentlemen, Jean-Piere inspired me to make a MEKUGI NUKI myself. I forged it from iron that was originally used in a wagon wheel's tire, back in about 1880. It is 120 mm long, has a max. width of 28 mm, and is 5,2 mm thick. Price is € 85.-- plus shipping. I also had another idea: A newly forged TANTO TSUBA (58,4 x 48,2 x 7 mm) with an integrated spike. Same material as above, but much more work! Price is € 220.-- plus shipping.
16k Posted November 21, 2020 Report Posted November 21, 2020 Those are great Jean! I don’t have money for the moment, but if you keep making them, I will certainly buy a Mekugi Tsuba from you at some point! Great stuff!
Spartancrest Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 Someone in Japan has the same idea Jean - https://www.moonlighthouse.jp/SHOP/GSK0005FM.html http://shigetsune.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-98.html

PNSSHOGUN Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 These are great! Has anyone heard from @16k lately?
Michaelr Posted November 10, 2021 Report Posted November 10, 2021 Beautiful. What would something like the last one pictured cost? Thanks. MikeR
ROKUJURO Posted November 10, 2021 Author Report Posted November 10, 2021 Dale, thank you for this post! I like the 'shrunk' KOGAI MEKUGI NUKI a lot! That is high class, and probably a bit above the price level of the upper item!
