mds308 Posted November 13, 2020 Report Posted November 13, 2020 Hi to all. I'm new here so be gentle. I have been buying and selling collectibles, antiques and militaria for almost 30 years. This is the first NCO sword I have purchased and looks to be one of the cleanest I have seen. This came from an estate sale with no history available. This sale had no militaria other than this sword. The scabbard looks really good. Blade looks really good with a small blemish near the Kissaki. Some color loss to the aluminum Tsuka but nothing horrible. I have yet to remove the Tsuka. Numbers match. Was it common for these to have a dull blade? This one appears to have never been sharpened. Feel free to ask for other images if needed. Opinions and comments are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. Quote
BANGBANGSAN Posted November 13, 2020 Report Posted November 13, 2020 Unfortunately, this is not original Type 95 NCO sword, it's a copy. 1 Quote

Bruce Pennington Posted November 13, 2020 Report Posted November 13, 2020 Wow, Trystan, the stamps are very good! It if weren't for the bad blade issues, I'd have fallen for this one. MIchael, the bohi (fuller groove) is wrong, the blade tip is very close, but wrong. The numbering looks wrong. Certain fine points about the scabbard throat and handle Quote
Bruce Pennington Posted November 13, 2020 Report Posted November 13, 2020 For example, this is what an Iijima, Kokura, blade tip looks like: Quote
mds308 Posted November 13, 2020 Author Report Posted November 13, 2020 Thanks Bruce. Definitely not my first mistake and I'm certain it won't be my last. I'm not out too much money but it's more of a hit to my ego. Another education from the school of hard knocks. Are these recent or were they made some years ago? From China? Quote

The older ones have really bad stamps. There have been some posts recently of one of the Chinese factories that are cranking these out, and they are improving, sadly. Quote

I Heard this version is from India, a lot better than this Chinese one. Quote
