Moley Posted November 4, 2020 Report Posted November 4, 2020 Hi Everybody, Working on a restoration at the moment. Can anybody please tell me if there is any rule about how much the Kozuka tip should stand proud the other side of the tsuba when in the saya and through the Hitsu Ana ? Thanks Gwyn Quote
ROKUJURO Posted November 4, 2020 Report Posted November 4, 2020 Gwyn, in my experience, there is no exact measurement. The KOZUKA end should protrude so much that you can grab and pull it out, I think. 1 Quote
DTM72 Posted November 4, 2020 Report Posted November 4, 2020 Would love to know the answer to this question as well. 1 Quote
John A Stuart Posted November 5, 2020 Report Posted November 5, 2020 Most I've seen protrude just a little, really so as not to impede Nuki. The Kogatana is not drawn out, but, slid out by the dexter thumb and then the Kozuka grasped. John 1 Quote
Renato Posted November 5, 2020 Report Posted November 5, 2020 If You are restoring a saya, point on the dimension of the kozuka pocket instead of the kozuka itself. Normally the lenght of the pocket (where the kozuka handle rests) is about 90mm. Quote
