parfaitelumiere Posted October 25, 2020 Report Posted October 25, 2020 I found this old samekawa. What is interesting is the inner side. 4 Quote

Ken-Hawaii Posted October 26, 2020 Report Posted October 26, 2020 That might be the most secure way to hide a message that I've ever heard of! Translation, anyone? Quote
DirkO Posted October 26, 2020 Report Posted October 26, 2020 By the looks of it, this samegawa has never been mounted. I've seen a few with writing on the back like this one, usually information about the actual samegawa, although this one does seem quite elaborate. Quote
Brian Posted October 26, 2020 Report Posted October 26, 2020 Maybe I'm wrong...but I think there is only one person here who might be able to read that. @k morita if he finds this post possibly? 1 Quote
SteveM Posted October 26, 2020 Report Posted October 26, 2020 Written by Satō somebody (his name is on both pieces of paper). The top paper is indicating the position of something using the four compass points. 東ハ? (助山院?) 西ハ? (山院?) 南ハ? (高山沢院?) 北ハ? (沢?) Sorry, not much help. Quote
parfaitelumiere Posted October 26, 2020 Author Report Posted October 26, 2020 I purchased to old polishing stones from same seller, probably 2 nagura, not sure yet, the seller sold about 15 old stones, from arato to uchigumori, all were used, some damaged, he sold a set of 3 old samekawa, sadly I missed the bid, was in the garden, and sold other sword related stuff. I saw this too, did not purchase, but interesting, the brown color and the clean section for tsuka use. Quote
