I just cannot seem to find the second character in any of my books or online references. Sorry, but this is the best pic I have from my phone at the moment. I can take a better one when I get home from work.

Indeed! 
Written, the right radical “岡“ appears decomposed and “closed” on the bottom with an stroke. Lesson learned.....

Moley, The tanto I am working with is well before the Showa time frame so hard to match the two kanji from vastly different eras. I can say that the way the Showa smith chiseled the "tsuna" is similar to the mei in question. Thanks for your input.
