Hi
I'm having to rethink this diorama
I'd like to sell it but it can only be picked up from my house
It is a real dust trap and really too big to have on display
The diorama is OK but the scene especially the trees are real naff
I could remove all the figures and create smaller groups that can be covered
Sell off the individual figures and houses
There are over 70 figures with only a couple of duplicate figures
What do you think?

Also I'd like to know a bit more about the figures
Possible age and whether they were hand painted or or supplied already painted

I'm surprised no one recognises these LEAD figures

Peter, by burner I assume you are saying not to strip it down

It is too big

With no cover it's a nightmare to clean

The longer weapons get bent

The trees are poorly made

There are better ways to to the grass

There are two sumo wrestlers in the top house during a battle!

Grev

They are made from lead

The cast detail is quite good

s they are lead maybe around 1960 - just a guess

Due to range of design they may have been quite popular although limited

It is more likely they are from the 1970s or early 1980s. They would be common in bookstores and gaming stores.

My friends and I painted many of these when we were kids on into tween years. I built a similar "diorama". Eventually I scrapped it, but I kept a few of the figures as tokens of childhood.

I think the dates are about right it's just that I don't know when lead was banned from use for these small figures

Doesn't look like any one on the NMB has any of this type of figure

Cidatel and Ral Partha-

Woah. Flashback for me too Mark. I had almost forgotten those names.

I still miss getting that fat issue of Dragon magazine in the mail once a month.

Hi

I did decide to break it down as I needed the space and the scene although well painted was let down by the unrealistic setting and the mix of figures (Kung Fu, sumo etc)

There are just over 80 figures the majority being DM then a few Grenadier and Rai Partha
The Grenadier is dated 1985

Now what should I do with them?
