I bid $350 on what i thought was a period piece or "an old finely carved ,high grade item" (even if tourist targetted).what i got was something knocked up in a sweat shop in thailand or Hong Kong around last week.(or similar)

have you looked at his high-resolution pictures? They are always so detailed that you should be able to tell Chinese crap from the real thing...

Strangely the high res images Link did not work on this particular sale.

Anyway its old news now. :D

Someone liked it so i was lucky to sell it on and get my stake back.

I will be more careful in future.

He's got 7 negative replies on this J site, (as opposed to over 1,000 positive) mostly relating to poor description, (no mention of damage) and discovery on receipt that the supposed antique was in fact not old at all, or it was modern Chinese...
