Here is what I think is a Type 94 shin guntō. The sword is in excellent condition, however the tsuka is wrapped with blue chord which I think is unusual. Any information about this sword would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dick

I want to mark that the signature didn't fit to the reportet masayasu signatures from Slough. They look different and more dense.

But i want to say that your signature looks excellent made and looks very nice.

I think the sword was signed by one of his students.

Chris (vajo), another Mano Masayasu mei, looks gendai-to no date no stamp. And John (PNSSHOGUN), you may be able to tell me if it is in '94 mounts. Pierced tsuba, and centre latch button.

So, the blue ito was found on both army and navy gunto, I see.  Interesting.

Where's the Navy sword with blue Ito?
