Chishiki Posted September 23, 2020 Report Posted September 23, 2020 Hi. Asking for a friend. Can anyone ID this mon please. There may be a few variations out there so if someone could nail it that would be great. Mark Quote
Rich S Posted September 23, 2020 Report Posted September 23, 2020 Mark From Google: there are other sites; https://doyouknowjapan.com/symbols/ I looked through Hawley's book of Mon - nothing exact Rich 1 Quote
Bugyotsuji Posted September 24, 2020 Report Posted September 24, 2020 It looks like a version (but not in a Maru) of the Daki-Myoga Kamon 抱き茗荷 used by Nabeshima among others. This one has exaggerated sukashi internally suggesting to me a Hyotan gourd, so perhaps this family had connections to both? https://www.google.com/search?q=抱き茗荷+家紋&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwibksz52YDsAhUDZt4KHSt0DZ4Q_AUoAXoECAwQAw&biw=1366&bih=625 Quote
