Hello 

i have recently bought a nice Japoneese Katana WW2 and there is a surrender tag attached to the sword 

can someone help me to know what is written on the tag ? May be a family name or a date or an adress .....something else ?

Matsuura Yasu-?

 

Family name of Matsuura, given name of Yasu-something. Maybe Yasueimon 安右衛門 using abbreviated forms of the last two kanji. Matsuura is a fairly common last name, found all over Japan. Maybe slightly more prevalent in the west, around Hiroshima.

I don't recognize that tassel, is it leather?  Is this on a kyu-gunto?

Looks like a Kyu Gunto tassel.

Also, show us the writing at the top portion of the tag...might help us figure it out.

Oh, I see the top writing has been torn off...too bad,

I agree the name appears to be MATSUURA YASU ?.
