" lifted " ( author is Ted ) from another sword message board..................

" Hi All,

Just heard from my brother-in-law who was on-line for the London

auction today, he claims it was a disaster for swords although the

large bundles of fittings seem to sell. Most of the good swords b.i.

253: Yamashiro katana (Ikkanshi Tadtsuna) est.: £35,000-50,000 high

bid £12,000

254 A tachi in silver mounts that belonged to Eva Peron est

£25,000-30,000 high bid £10,000

256 Kunimichi katana, est £26,000-30,000 high bid £8,000

258 Yausada with cutting test, est £50,000-80,000 high bid £7,000

there's an article about a Tokugawa descendent recently in Japan Today ( something like that ), but since I have been " warned " about posting 1 % Japanese related news item, I didn't link that to the board.

By the way, Mr. Cheney has this 1 % solution, I don't see why if it's good enough for Dick, it's not good enough for me.

I'll try to see if I can locate that article, he ( the Tokugawa dude ) mentioned pro-bukufu, that's why i asked.

Milt, no more PM's or "user warnings" - this is absolutely your very last pot shot, you've pushed the envelope far enough: one more tiny little slip and you're out of here for good. One more "despote" remark, and you can kiss your account good-bye. This is a promise.

The same goes for Henk-Jan:

Dont get me started on the traitor Meiji...
What are you talking about? Ever cracked a book on Japanese history other than Manga?

This may come as a shock to you, but chances that you were a Samurai in a former (or even present) life are kind of slim. Your mumbo-jumbo Japanese and half-knowledge of Japanese culture, history and language is nothing I'm concerned with - but keep it out of this message board, for crying out loud! And while we're at it: you don't earn any browny points by replying to each and every post on NMB. Bummer, huh?

****************************

Guys, to say that your current status on NMB is under review is *the* understatement of the decade. I'm sick and tired of receiving complaints about your behavior, and am fed up with cleaning up after you, as are the other mods/admin. I don't know what your problems are, but I sure as hell won't make them *my/our* problems. And seeing that sending you PM's is a waste of time, I have no other option than censuring you in public, hoping against all odds that you finally will come to your senses.

Take a deep breath, read some Haiku's, take a cold shower: whatever it takes to make you functional members of NMB. And don't PM Brian, Ted or me saying that you're sorry - been there, done that. Take a break. I really hate to post all this in public, but enough is enough.
