Ankh Posted August 11, 2020 Report Posted August 11, 2020 Hello friends! i am a beginner ... I own a tanto bar but I don't know anything about it! Please let me know what you think about it! my ignorance desperately needs your enlightenment ...! Please 😶 Quote
Babu Posted August 11, 2020 Report Posted August 11, 2020 Hi there.Very quick reply as you have been waiting .... It is an odd looking thing in that the mei appears badly chiseled and on the wrong side for wearing cutting edge up so I'm assuming it was not. The nakago is ”unusual”. I'm leaning towards a WWII pilots tanto or similar as it's not got a lot of activity it may be oil tempered and I cannot see the hada or its Muji. Your tsuba in the background is Chinese cast.😊 1 Quote
Yasaka Azuma Posted August 11, 2020 Report Posted August 11, 2020 For example: 「三条小鍛治宗近」奈良住 文化頃 以下数代あり 刃物作者 "Sanjo Kokaji Munechika" Nara residence, around the age of bunka(1804-1818), There are several generations below, cutlery author https://twitter.com/tsuruginoya/status/1021249133036867585 1 Quote

Tsuba của bạn trong nền là diễn viên Trung Quốc.😊 I am very grateful for your sharing! 🤗🤗🤗 3 giờ trước, Ankh nói: Quote

Ankh Posted August 11, 2020 Author Report Posted August 11, 2020 what is this when i first met it! and I decided to clean it up! forgive me for polishing it myself even though my understanding of it is limited! In the country I earn in general and nihonto in particular are classified as rudimentary weapons and it is forbidden to use or possess by the law of the state! so to own a bar nihonto is difficult and information about it is also very poor! Bruce Pennington Posted August 11, 2020 Report Posted August 11, 2020 Could be a Kamikazi knife. I know this label gets thrown around too often like the "pilot/tanker sword" term. But they DID exist. Just a matter of trying to determine if this one was made for that purpose of not. Might not be able to know. A couple can be seen here: http://ohmura-study.net/767.html 1 Quote
Yasaka Azuma Posted August 11, 2020 Report Posted August 11, 2020 ankh.Try the following: ・Drag and copy "三条小鍛治宗近". ・Search with Google, Yahoo, and other search engines. ・For example, the following information will be hit in Japanese. 銘 (表) 三条宗近作 (裏) 永祥元年二月右→ This year number is a lie, It is the same as "乾隆年製" on the back of Chinese pottery. https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/j642072605 ・The link will be displayed and the explanation will be translated. ・If you have any words you don't understand, ask a question in NMB. Babu Posted August 11, 2020 Report Posted August 11, 2020 It is a pilots knife or similar and I'm thinking oil quenched WWII at a glance as already stated. The hole at the end of the tsuka was for the string to wear around the neck. Seeing this koshirae / shirasaya almost confirms that. 1 Quote

Cảm ơn Adam Sorry for the late reply! Why would you want to take back those claims! I care very much for your judgment! With this design I also agree in your opinion that it was the knife used in the ww2 era but could it have been there before? and has been modified to suit the pilot as the nakago gets the honed mark! Please let me know more information if you have! Quote
